According to recent studies, low levels of Glutathione in the body seem to be part of the cause for autism and not vice versa.

In the past doctors believed that the decline in levels of Glutathione is a variable shown by children who already suffer from autism. However, studies now show that "a Glutathione (GSH) deficiency occurs before neuropathological abnormalities in these diseases [brain disorders such as autism, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease]."
Certain abnormalities in the genes that regulate glutathione's antioxidant enzymes have also been determined in recent studies. Even when the figures are not precise, it is estimated that one in every hundred children suffers from ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).
When a child’s brain is developing, any nutrient deficiencies, environmental factors, or different variables that mess up the body's metabolic processes such as chronic inflammation, immune dysfunction, functional dysfunction that causes oxidative damage in the brain that is growing, causes a huge difficulty in its development.
Certain abnormalities in the genes that regulate glutathione's antioxidant enzymes have also been determined in recent studies. Even when the figures are not precise, it is estimated that one in every hundred children suffers from ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).
After autism was recognized as a formal condition, it was found that practically all those considered intellectual were autistic and 10% of autistic classics possessed savant talent. The French term "idiot savant", introduced as early as 1887, fits these patients perfectly. "Far from being idiots, these people have special and sometimes extraordinary powers for specific subjects such as calculation, drawing, mechanics and, above all, to remember, interpret and sometimes compose music", explains the Alicante neuropaediatrician and professor at the Miguel Hernández University. Francisco Carratalá.
ASD is comprised of four stages that depend on severity, language and intelligence abilities:
-autistic disorder
-the disintegrative disorder of childhood
-the generalized disorder of unspecified development
-The Asperger disorder
According to the WHO (World Health Organization), the characteristics of the disease are extremely varied and can respond to neurobiological disorders. The levels of intellectual development also vary but are always associated with extraordinary abilities – It was even said that Mozart and Newton were autistic. According to more than a hundred psychologists involved in the subject, Asperger patients have a higher than average intelligence, usually with picture-perfect memories and a huge passion for topics that interest them.
Research is still underway, but what does not change is that the need for the antioxidant glutathione in the body of these children is much higher than usual.
We recommend taking Glutathione daily in doses between 300 and 400 mg preferably in liquid form for better and safer absorption.
